Are you a vegetarian or a vegan looking for an exciting place to eat? Are you hoping to try some new and delicious dishes? Are you looking for a healthy restaurant to dine at? If the answer to any of these questions is yes, you should definitely visit Mildreds.
Mildreds is a popular restaurant in London that serves fresh, organic, and international vegetarian cuisine. As well as being veggie-friendly, (phew!) Mildreds offers a wide range of vegan dishes and meals which are gluten-free. With healthy eating becoming more popular, Mildreds is the perfect place for a tasty and nutritious meal. The first Mildreds restaurant opened on Greek Street, Soho in 1988, with the intention of serving customers with appetising international dishes that are good value for money, and are healthy. Mildreds offers fresh and flavoursome dishes, which are always cooked on the day.
I was introduced to Mildreds by my good friend, Marina, who’s also a blogger. We had many dishes to choose from, all which sounded amazing.
In the end, we decided to go for
- Sweet potato fries and basil mayo.
- Smashed avocado with lime, chili, and organic blue corn chips.
- Drunken chili with lime-fried tofu and an amazing mango soba noodle salad.
- Yellow courgettes with labneh and pistachio lemon pesto.
- White, fluffy chocolate mascarpone cheesecake, garnished with raspberries.
I was pleasantly surprised by the white chocolate mascarpone cheesecake. It tasted just as delicious as other high-quality cheesecakes, but it was vegetarian and I really couldn’t taste the difference. This was one of my favourites from the meal and I absolutely loved this dessert.
- Raw chocolate truffle cake with an almond and date crust, served with fresh strawberries. (Sadly I forgot to take a photo) The raw chocolate truffle cake both looked and tasted lovely. It was rich, sugar-free, and simply superb.
The dishes were smaller than I had anticipated, but they were well presented in a neat tapas style and still tasted great. The only dish I wasn’t particularly fond of was the smashed avocado, which was served up with lime, chili, and organic blue corn chips. Although the avocado was amazing, the corn chips tasted a lot like Doritos, which I’m not a fan of.
The environment of Mildreds is definitely worth a mention. It has a sophisticated shabby chic appearance, with nice lighting, and stunning pictures displayed across the walls. Overall, an awesome atmosphere. Mildreds is a gem, located in busy Soho in London. Here you’ll be rewarded with a nice ambience and fantastic food. This place is known for providing healthy dishes, and has something to offer everyone. Whether you’re a meat-eater like me, or a vegetarian/vegan, there will be something on the menu that you’ll enjoy.
